Calculate Body Fat
The U.S. Navy method estimates body-fat percentage from circumference measurements and height; it is a screening estimate, not a clinical body-composition test.
Formula: Men: BF% = 495 ÷ (1.0324 − 0.19077 log10(waist−neck) + 0.15456 log10(height)) − 450; Women: BF% = 495 ÷ (1.29579 − 0.35004 log10(waist+hip−neck) + 0.22100 log10(height)) − 450
Small input differences can affect an estimated health result, especially for circumference-based or energy-need formulas. Measure consistently and avoid false precision.
Compare the displayed answer with the formula above so you can see which inputs are driving the estimate.
